Border Guard units in the Southern Military Zone brought down guided balloons carrying narcotics before dawn on Thursday as they crossed toward Jordanian territory, the Jordanian Armed Forces said.

The balloons were tracked and intercepted in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, and the seized narcotics handed to the authorities for legal proceedings. The military said Border Guard units continue to counter smuggling attempts across the frontier.
