On Friday, in a press statement, the Council stated that this decision is a gesture of respect for the lives of martyrs in Gaza and throughout Palestine, expressing solidarity with the people there amidst their continued suffering due to the brutal Israeli aggression.

The Council expressed appreciation for Jordan's positions, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, and supported his efforts to halt the Israeli aggression on Gaza. They commended the role of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) and security agencies (PSD) in preserving Jordan's security and stability, and thwarting any attempts to compromise its societal peace.
