On Saturday, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed Hamas’s positive response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza, considering it an important step toward ending the conflict and its catastrophic consequences.

The Ministry also welcomed President Trump’s call for an immediate ceasefire to allow the implementation of a prisoner exchange under the formula outlined in the U.S. proposal, which Hamas has approved, thus halting the bloodshed in Gaza.
Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali stated that Jordan values the key roles played by the sisterly states of Egypt and Qatar in efforts to reach a lasting ceasefire agreement.
Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s appreciation for the U.S. President’s efforts and proposal regarding ending the war, rebuilding Gaza, preventing the displacement of Palestinians, and advancing comprehensive peace efforts, including his opposition to the annexation of the West Bank.
He emphasized that Jordan views its partnership with the United States as a cornerstone in efforts to end the conflict and achieve a just peace.
Majali stressed the urgent need to halt Israeli aggression against Gaza immediately, open crossings to allow sufficient, immediate, and sustainable humanitarian aid throughout the territory, and initiate a genuine effort to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He also confirmed that Jordan will continue working with regional partners, the United States, and international stakeholders to end the war and launch a meaningful path toward a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
Jordan has expressed readiness to resume humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza immediately once Israel removes restrictions, ensuring safe access in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law.
