The World Food Programme confirmed that Jordan continues to play a pivotal role in delivering food aid to the Gaza Strip as part of international efforts to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis there.

According to a WFP report reviewed by Al-Mamlaka, since the resumption of aid convoys to Gaza in June 2025, the programme, in cooperation with the Jordanian government and its logistics team, successfully delivered approximately 10,735 tons of food via 629 trucks, with August alone seeing 5,545 tons transported through 307 trucks.
These efforts reflect Jordan’s coordinating role in facilitating the passage of aid convoys through its territory to the Gaza Strip, ensuring a steady flow of essential food supplies to populations affected by the ongoing crisis, at a time when humanitarian needs are sharply increasing.
Last Thursday, Israeli occupation authorities announced a halt to the entry of aid from Jordan until further notice, following a shooting incident at the other side of the King Hussein Bridge (Al-Karama Crossing).
Hussein Al-Shibli, Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, stated that the number of aid trucks sent to Gaza has exceeded 8,664 trucks despite increasing obstacles and attempts to block aid access.
In a previous statement to Al-Mamlaka, Al-Shibli said: “We want to deliver larger quantities of aid and are ready to send over 150 trucks daily, but the Israeli occupation has not fulfilled its promises to allow the entry of food and humanitarian aid.”
He emphasized the challenges preventing large numbers of trucks from entering, noting that many essential items, such as medical supplies, are being blocked.
Al-Shibli also mentioned that new Israeli fees have been imposed on aid trucks entering the Gaza Strip.
