King: While working to resolve the conflict in Gaza, we do not want to see another conflict erupt in the West Bank

His Majesty King Abdullah II, during his participation in a multilateral meeting convened by the United States and Qatar in New York on Tuesday, affirmed the readiness of all countries participating in the meeting to work with the United States on a comprehensive plan for Gaza that would end the war and the suffering.

During the meeting, held to discuss ways to stop the war on Gaza, His Majesty stressed that reaching a permanent ceasefire and ensuring the unimpeded flow of aid constitutes a top priority.

The King called for efforts to restore stability in the West Bank, saying: “While we work to resolve the conflict in Gaza, we do not want to see another conflict erupt in the West Bank.”

He added that annexing the West Bank or altering the historical status quo at the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem would undermine all efforts to achieve peace and stability.

His Majesty underscored the important role of the United States and U.S. President Donald Trump in ending the war on Gaza and achieving a just peace.

The meeting was attended by President Donald Trump, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
