Israeli media reports have indicated that His Majesty King Abdullah II refused to hold a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the reports, Netanyahu’s office submitted several requests for a meeting with His Majesty, all of which were met with rejection.
The reports added that Jordan set specific conditions to even consider a meeting between the King and Netanyahu, all of which are linked to the Palestinian cause.
The conditions reportedly included:
Clarifications regarding the establishment of a Palestinian State.
A firm commitment to refrain from the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Guarantees regarding the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Issues pertaining to water agreements.
These reports emphasized that the Jordanian refusal has frustrated Netanyahu's attempts to achieve any diplomatic breakthrough in this regard.
