COVID-19 positivity rate spikes to 6.7%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,562 new COVID-19 cases and 17 new deaths Monday, bringing the total death toll to 11,145 and the total number of cases to 878,366.اضافة اعلان
 
The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 976 cases, while Zarqa recorded 144 cases. Irbid registered 644 cases, Balqa 168 cases, Karak recorded 103 cases, Jerash recorded 109 cases, and Tafileh recorded 30 cases. Madaba registered 74 cases, Aqaba 87, Ramtha 66 and Ajloun 88.

The ministry said in a statement that 96 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 110 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 25,354 according to the ministry. Out of 38,254 COVID-19 tests conducted Monday, 6.7 percent of them came back positive.
