COVID-19 positivity rate at over five percent, 1,597 new cases reported

AMMAN  — Jordan recorded 1,597 new COVID-19 cases and eight new deaths Tuesday, bringing the total death toll to 10,895 and the total cases to 844,801.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 720 cases, while Zarqa recorded 123 cases. Irbid registered 312 cases, Balqa 70 cases, Karak recorded 41, Jerash recorded 30 cases, and Tafileh recorded 36. Madaba registered 46 cases, Aqaba 54, and Ajloun 57.

The ministry said in a statement that around 66 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 98 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 16,229 according to the ministry. Around 5.09 percent of the 31,400 COVID-19 tests conducted today came back positive.
