Eighth new COVID-19 deaths recorded on Monday

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 1,715 new COVID-19 cases and 8 new deaths Monday, bringing the total death toll to 10,887 and the total cases to 843,204.

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 688 cases, while Zarqa recorded 131 cases. Irbid registered 321 cases, Balqa 94 cases, Karak recorded 28, Jerash recorded 27 cases, and Tafileh recorded 25. Madaba registered 55 cases, Aqaba 94, and Ajloun 78.

The ministry added in a statement that around 113 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 124 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 15700 according to the ministry. Around 5.32 percent of the 32213 COVID-19 tests conducted today came back positive.
