AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,097 new COVID-19 cases and 14
new deaths Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 11,128 and the total number
of cases to 875,804.
The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 766
cases, while Zarqa recorded 165 cases. Irbid registered 379 cases, Balqa 143
cases, Karak recorded 66 cases, Jerash recorded 106 cases, and Tafileh recorded
34 cases. Madaba registered 76 cases, Aqaba 126, and Ajloun 98.
The ministry said in a statement that 61 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from
hospitals, while 71 new patients were admitted.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the
Kingdom stands at around 24,394 according to the ministry. Out of 31,420
COVID-19 tests conducted Sunday, 6.67 percent of them came back positive.
