According to a company press release, the eco-park will serve as the primary park for the Amra City project. It will span an area of 1,000 dunams, featuring water bodies as its core component alongside green spaces and recreational areas. The site will undergo extensive planting of various local trees and flora suited to the regional climate, contributing to making the park a sanctuary for migratory birds and restoring the area's natural vegetation.
Work on the park project is scheduled to commence at the beginning of next July, with completion set within three years as part of Amra City's first-phase developments. The park aims to provide a high-quality environmental haven within a long-term, forward-looking urban planning approach.
The RSCN will handle the design, execution, and operation of the park project according to the highest environmental specifications and standards. Its unique design will harmonize with the local terrain, utilizing rainwater and natural runoff pathways in valleys and streams following comprehensive environmental, engineering, and technical studies prepared for this purpose. The RSCN will also manage and sustain the park, leveraging its position as one of the premier national institutions with expertise in this field.
The park derives its identity from the natural heritage of the Amra region. The site will undergo terrain leveling and extensive landscaping with diverse local trees and plants to bolster regional vegetation cover.
This eco-park is part of the integrated developmental framework of the Amra City project—the largest urban project in the Kingdom's history. The master plan also includes a sports city, an international convention and exhibition center, and an amusement park, all aligned with the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision and Jordan's aspirations toward a greener, more sustainable future.
In a related development, the Jordanian Company for Urban and Facilities Development announced the awarding of a design and feasibility study tender to a British-Saudi coalition to establish the largest amusement park in the Kingdom, as part of the initial phase of the Amra City project.
The first phase of the amusement park project will be developed on an area of 200 dunams at a cost of JOD 50 million, out of a total estimated area of 575 dunams. Operations are slated to begin by the end of 2028.
The British-Saudi coalition will be responsible for delivering the designs, the master plan, and the economic feasibility study for the amusement park.
The project is set to become a unique new tourist destination, creating hundreds of job opportunities and stimulating various economic sectors. This aligns with the quality-of-life pillar of the Economic Modernization Vision and will contribute to boosting both domestic and international tourism.
It is worth noting that the Jordanian Company for Urban and Facilities Development is a wholly government-owned entity under the Jordan Investment Fund. It is tasked with monitoring and facilitating project execution stages, offering investment opportunities, engaging with developers, and building partnerships to attract local and foreign investments to the Amra City project.
