Patients visiting outpatient clinics at Prince Hamzah Hospital will begin benefiting from a new appointment scheduling system starting Sunday. The initiative aims to reduce overcrowding, improve patient flow, and ensure faster access to medical care in a more organized and comfortable environment.
The measure follows a visit by Jordan’s Minister of Health, Ibrahim Al-Badour, to the hospital nearly two weeks ago. During the visit, he observed that most appointments were concentrated within the first three morning hours and that many patients arrived well before their scheduled times, resulting in congestion in clinic waiting areas.
In response, hospital management reorganized appointment distribution throughout the clinics’ operating hours. Under the new system, clinics will receive patients from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., rather than concentrating appointments in the early morning, helping to spread patient attendance more evenly throughout the day.
The new procedures also include sending text messages to patients specifying their exact appointment times. Patients are urged to arrive only at the designated time and avoid coming earlier than scheduled in order to reduce crowding and improve service efficiency.
A dedicated hotline (0785514638) has also been established to assist patients who do not receive appointment messages or who have inquiries regarding their scheduled visits.
According to the hospital, text messages have already been sent to patients with Sunday appointments, while notifications for subsequent days will be distributed throughout the week as the new system is fully implemented.
The first phase covers the following specialties:
* Orthopedics
* Endocrinology
* Urology
* Physical Rehabilitation
* Internal Medicine
* Rheumatology
* Ophthalmology
* Breast Surgery
The hospital said the pilot phase will be evaluated before expanding the system to additional specialties, with the goal of enhancing service quality and reducing congestion across the facility.
Prince Hamzah Hospital called on patients to adhere strictly to their appointment times, emphasizing that registration and admission procedures will be conducted according to each patient’s scheduled appointment.
