Patients attending outpatient clinics at Prince Hamzah Hospital will begin benefiting on Sunday from a new appointment-management system introduced under a decision by Jordan’s Minister of Health, Ibrahim Al-Badour. The initiative aims to reduce overcrowding, improve patient flow, and ensure faster access to medical care in a more organized and comfortable environment.

The measure follows a visit by the minister to the hospital approximately two weeks ago. During the visit, he observed that most appointments were scheduled within the first three morning hours and that many patients were arriving well before their designated appointment times, contributing to significant congestion in clinic areas.
As a result, hospital management was instructed to redistribute patient appointments throughout the clinics’ operating hours. Under the new system, clinics will actively receive patients from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., rather than concentrating appointments during the morning period, ensuring a more balanced and efficient flow of visitors throughout the day.
The new procedures also include sending text messages to patients specifying their appointment times. Patients are urged to arrive only at the time indicated in the message and avoid coming early, helping to reduce crowding and improve the overall patient experience.
In addition, a dedicated hotline (0785514638) has been established for inquiries and assistance in cases where appointment messages are not received or if patients have concerns regarding their scheduled visits.
According to the hospital, text messages have already been sent to patients with appointments on Sunday, while notifications for subsequent days will be distributed throughout the week ahead of the system’s implementation.
The first phase covers the following clinics:
Orthopedics
Endocrinology
Urology
Physical Rehabilitation
Internal Medicine
Rheumatology
Ophthalmology
Breast Surgery
The hospital said the experience will be evaluated before expanding the system to additional specialties, with the goal of improving service quality and reducing congestion across the facility.
Prince Hamzah Hospital also called on patients to adhere strictly to their scheduled appointment times, emphasizing that registration and admission procedures will be conducted according to each patient's assigned appointment.
