Personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 17 drug dealers and promoters while handling eight high-profile cases over the past few days.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that AND personnel dealt with eight specialized cases across various governorates of the Kingdom over the past days, arresting 17 drug dealers and promoters and seizing large quantities of narcotics in their possession.
He added that in the first case, a security campaign was conducted in Madaba Governorate, targeting the locations of several drug dealers and promoters, which led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of quantities of narcotics.
In the Capital Governorate, two cases were handled: in the first, three drug promoters were arrested after being lured into targeted ambushes, with 1 kilogram of lethal crystal meth, a quantity of narcotic pills, and a firearm seized in their possession. In the second case, two drug promoters were arrested with 9 blocks of hashish.
The spokesperson further noted that a drug dealer's house in Al-Mafraq Governorate was raided, leading to his arrest and the discovery of 20,000 narcotic pills buried in a pit in the courtyard. In the Southern Badia, three drug dealers were tracked after authorities confirmed they were transporting narcotics to the capital; they were intercepted and arrested on the road, with 13 blocks of hashish, 1,000 narcotic pills, and a firearm found inside the vehicle.
In the Central Badia, a tent was raided while three dealers were selling narcotics inside; all three were arrested, and 36 blocks of hashish were seized.
In Karak Governorate, a drug dealer was raided and arrested with 35 blocks of hashish in his possession. In the final case in Ma’an, following information that an individual was cultivating marijuana plants inside his home, officers tracked and arrested him, seizing the cultivated marijuana plants found inside the residence.
