European Union Approves 19th Sanctions Package Against Russia

The European Union officially approved on Thursday the 19th package of sanctions against Russia in response to its war on Ukraine.

The sanctions include a ban on imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG).اضافة اعلان

EU member states had agreed on the package on Wednesday, following the lifting of Slovakia’s reservations.

Earlier, the EU Council approved the ban on Russian gas imports last Monday, marking a key step in the EU’s roadmap to end dependence on Russian energy, after Moscow repeatedly used gas as a political weapon, causing significant disruptions to the European energy market.
