Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani emphasized on Thursday the need to focus on implementing the roadmap regarding the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of fulfilling the obligations outlined in Phase One of the ceasefire agreement.

Abdelatty stated that full coordination exists among the mediators—Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt—regarding the execution of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. He noted that cooperation among the three nations contributed to achieving the breakthrough in inventorying and handing over weapons in Gaza.
He added that "the ball is now in the Israeli side's court," stressing that all parties must exert pressure on Israel to fulfill the commitments contained in Phase One of the Gaza agreement.
For his part, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister stated that the region is passing through a critical juncture following the Palestinian factions' declaration of their acceptance of the peace plan. He pointed out that the Israeli side has not carried out the commitments specified in Phase One of the Gaza deal.
He added that Israel's actions destabilize security and that it "rejects day after day the outstretched hand," affirming that Qatar will continue its efforts alongside its brothers in the Gulf and the region to support diplomatic solutions.
Abdelatty expressed Egypt's hope that U.S. efforts will continue to enforce and implement U.S. President Donald Trump's vision to achieve peace in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister confirmed that his country will exert international efforts to generate global pressure on Israel to meet its obligations.
Maritime Navigation and Regional Security
Addressing maritime navigation, the Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the necessity of adhering to international law regarding maritime passage, emphasizing that no state, regardless of status, can be permitted to obstruct navigation.
Abdelatty affirmed that the security of Qatar and the Gulf states is an integral part of Egyptian national security and Arab national security, condemning Iranian attacks on Qatar and Gulf nations as a flagrant violation of state sovereignty.
For his part, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reaffirmed the importance and necessity of freedom of navigation in both the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
He stated that Qatar will continue its joint efforts with Gulf and regional partners to advance diplomatic solutions, noting that his country discussed ways to identify solutions and alternatives for supply chains.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister noted ongoing daily coordination between Egypt and Qatar to maintain continuous communication aimed at de-escalation and strengthening diplomacy.
He added that Egypt and Qatar agreed that the security and governance of the Red Sea are a shared responsibility of the littoral states.
The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister warned of the repercussions of continued tension in the region, noting that without European commitment to regional de-escalation, the consequences will impact everyone.
