Speaking through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Qatar stated that mediation efforts are focused on reopening the Strait of Hormuz as quickly as possible, given its status as a vital corridor for international trade and maritime navigation. The spokesperson affirmed that the objective is to reach a formula that guarantees the security of the strait and the continuation of freedom of navigation within it.

It added that Doha has received positive feedback from both the Sultanate of Oman and Iran regarding the ongoing efforts, signaling the presence of common ground that can be built upon to advance the negotiation track.
