Israel: Bodies Handed Over by Hamas Do Not Belong to Israeli Hostages

According to the army, forensic analysis confirmed that the bodies were not among the 11 deceased hostages whose remains Israel expects to be handed over under the ceasefire agreement, brokered with U.S. mediation.

Since the ceasefire took effect, Israel has recovered the bodies of 17 hostages — 15 Israelis, one Nepali, and one Thai national.

Following the implementation of the truce on October 10, Hamas released 20 hostages alive.

Israel has accused Hamas of failing to comply with the agreement by not returning the bodies quickly enough, while the Palestinian movement insists that locating the remains buried beneath Gaza’s rubble requires time.
