The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on Wednesday that its fighters had detonated a pre-planted landmine field targeting an Israeli military unit east of Khan Younis, inflicting casualties.

In a military statement, Al-Qassam said:
“Our fighters successfully detonated a prepared landmine field targeting a mechanized Zionist force on Al-Awda Street in the Al-Farahin area east of Khan Younis, leaving members of the force dead and wounded.”
They added that mortar shells were fired at the location following the explosion, and the fighters observed the evacuation of a destroyed vehicle and helicopter landings for casualty evacuation.
On Monday, Al-Qassam reported executing a complex ambush against an Israeli engineering unit east of Khan Younis, involving an anti-personnel explosive and close-range engagement with automatic weapons, followed by targeting two tanks and a bulldozer with Yasin-105 anti-armor rockets.
On Sunday, Al-Qassam also disclosed details of a similar ambush in the Al-Janina neighborhood of Rafah, resulting in additional Israeli casualties.
