The Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection, and Sport said in an official statement that the children sustained serious injuries caused by the war in Gaza. They were first transported to Jordan to receive initial medical aid and then flown to Switzerland via aircraft operated by the Swiss Air Force and the Swiss Air-Rescue service “Rega.”

The statement explained that the children and their families will be distributed across several regions in Switzerland and will receive care in specialized university and cantonal hospitals according to the needs of each case.

The Swiss government emphasized that these children will also be provided with temporary residency and legal protection during the treatment and rehabilitation period.

Authorities stated that this initiative represents the first phase of a broader humanitarian program aiming to host around 20 children from Gaza injured during the war, as part of Switzerland’s efforts to provide humanitarian and medical support to those most affected by the conflict.
