AMMAN — The national junior beach handball team
started its second Asian championship in the Iranian capital, Tehran, with a
strong performance, defeating the Qatari team 2–1.
The victory boosted the national team's
aspirations to continue its progress in its quest to qualify for the World
Championship for the first time in the history of Jordanian handball. The top
three teams in Asia will qualify directly for the world championship, which
will be held in Greece next June.
The national team will play its second match at
8:30am on Wednesday, against Afghanistan. On the same day, Pakistan will face
Qatar, and Iran will play against India.
