The Ministry of Public Works and Housing will begin maintenance and expansion works on part of the Amman-Salt road on Monday evening, covering the section from beyond Dababneh Bridge to Umm Al-Najaj Bridge in the direction of Amman.
The works will include widening the road, removing asphalt mixtures from the existing shoulder, and laying a polymer-modified basalt asphalt layer. Road safety measures will also be implemented, including road markings and the installation of raised pavement markers, in accordance with approved technical specifications and standards.
The ministry said the project is part of an integrated program to expand, maintain and rehabilitate major roads in the central region. The program aims to preserve infrastructure, improve traffic conditions, enhance road efficiency and raise the level of service provided to road users, contributing to a safer, more efficient and sustainable road network.
The ministry said the works will be carried out in coordination with the Public Security Directorate under a temporary traffic plan designed to maintain smooth traffic flow and minimize the impact of the construction on motorists. All necessary safety measures will also be implemented to protect road users and workers at the sites.
The ministry urged motorists to exercise caution, follow traffic and warning signs in work zones, comply with instructions from ministry and Public Security Directorate personnel, and observe safe-driving rules to protect themselves and workers and allow construction teams to complete the works within the scheduled timeframe.
