Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that negotiations between Barcelona and Fenerbahçe have reached an advanced stage, with an agreement reached over Livaković’s move to the Catalan side.
Barcelona’s New Signing Worth €4 Million
Romano explained that the total value of Dominik Livaković’s transfer to Barcelona is €4 million, consisting of €2 million in fixed fees and a further €2 million in add-ons linked to certain clauses and conditions in the agreement.
Barcelona’s move for the Croatian goalkeeper comes as part of the club’s strategy to secure the future of the goalkeeping position, particularly with Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny approaching the final year of his contract with the club.
Barcelona do not plan to rely on Livaković directly during the current season, with details of the deal revealing a clear plan for the goalkeeper’s future.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona will sign Livaković before sending him out on loan for the current season. He is then expected to return to the Catalan club in June 2027, where he will serve as the backup goalkeeper behind Joan García.
Livaković’s expected return to Barcelona coincides with the expiration of Szczęsny’s contract, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Croatian goalkeeper at the Catalan club as part of its plans to restructure the goalkeeping position for the future.
The signing of Livaković reflects Barcelona’s policy of anticipating the team’s future needs by securing future signings early rather than waiting until the contracts of current players expire.
