Tech mogul Elon Musk contributed $10 million to two major Republican-aligned “super PACs” at the end of last year, according to campaign finance disclosures filed on Saturday, signaling his return to a more active role in Republican politics.اضافة اعلان

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who had a public falling out with former President Donald Trump last spring and had announced at the time that he would step back from political spending, gave $5 million in December to each of the Congressional Leadership Fund and the Senate Leadership Fund, both groups aiming to help Republicans retain control of Congress this year.

These donations represent Musk’s second round of contributions to these PACs during the current election cycle, following earlier donations in June, at the height of his dispute with Trump. The donations came shortly before Musk floated the possibility of creating his own political party, a move that made no notable progress.

However, Musk and Trump recently resolved their differences, with the tech CEO attending a dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month. Musk has also returned to promoting Republican positions on his platform X, urging senators to pass an expanded version of the SAVE Act, which would require states to collect proof of citizenship when registering voters.

Musk expressed support for a version called the “SAVE Act Plus”, advocating for strict ID requirements, limiting mail-in voting for most Americans, and other election administration changes.

During the 2024 election cycle, Musk was the largest individual donor to political committees, spending around $290 million, mostly through his own super PAC, America PAC, in support of Trump.

Earlier in the Trump administration, Musk played an active role in the “Government Efficiency Department”, but later clashed with Trump and Republicans over the president’s “Big Beautiful Law”. He was also heavily involved in the Wisconsin Supreme Court elections in April, where his endorsed candidate lost by 10 points.

Despite the high-profile contributions, Musk’s donations represent only a small portion of total funding raised by the Senate and House leadership PACs. The Senate Leadership Fund raised approximately $77 million over the last six months of 2025 and held $100 million in cash, while the House Leadership Fund raised over $38 million and held more than $54 million in cash, according to Politico.
