Duffy wrote on the social media platform X that the initial restrictions related to Caribbean airspace would expire at midnight Eastern Time (05:00 GMT Sunday), allowing flights to resume.

On Saturday, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had banned U.S.-registered airlines from operating throughout the entire Caribbean airspace “due to security risks (…) associated with ongoing military activity.”

U.S. armed forces carried out an attack on Venezuela late Friday night into Saturday, arresting President Nicolás Maduro, who was transferred to the United States and placed in detention.
