After 3 Years.. Gaza Lays to Rest 50 Martyrs Whose Remains Were Recovered From Beneath the Rubble
Palestinians in Gaza City laid to rest the remains of 50 martyrs whose bodies were recovered from beneath the ruins and rubble of destroyed homes in the neighborhoods of Tel al-Hawa, Al-Zaytoun, Al-Sabra, Sheikh Radwan, and Al-Shati, nearly three years after being targeted during the early months of the Israeli aggression, according to an Al-Qahera News correspondent in Gaza.اضافة اعلان

The recovery operation was made possible after the Civil Defense in Gaza secured funding from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to cover 800 operational hours in inhabited areas only, amid the Israeli occupation forces' continued ban on entering heavy machinery and equipment needed to clear approximately 60 million tons of rubble, which prevents access to more than 8,000 missing persons still under the debris.

Our correspondent explained that Civil Defense teams in Gaza City worked over past weeks to retrieve the remains of 50 bodies, which were gathered in the courtyard of Al-Shifa Medical Complex after being recovered from Tel al-Hawa, Al-Zaytoun, Al-Sabra, Sheikh Radwan, Al-Shati, and other areas across the city.

After nearly three years under ruined homes, Civil Defense crews—using only a single excavator—managed to reach these bodies and retrieve what was possible.

He noted that what was recovered in most cases were not complete bodies, but rather remains, bone fragments, and personal belongings due to decomposition caused by the passage of time and conditions under the rubble.

In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that 10 martyrs and 25 injured individuals arrived at hospitals over the past 24 hours as a result of ongoing Israeli violations of the October 2025 ceasefire agreement.

These continuous violations have raised the total casualties since the agreement took effect to 1,283 martyrs and 4,248 injured, in addition to the retrieval of 813 bodies during the same period.

According to cumulative data released by the Ministry, the total toll of the Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7, 2023, stands at approximately 73,417 martyrs and 174,360 injured.
