Work has officially begun on the JOD 2.6 million King Hussein Bridge public transport station project, according to the Ministry of Transport. Excavation is underway, alongside setup for a temporary vehicle lot and installation of traffic barriers to streamline site access.

Executed in coordination with utility providers for water, electricity, and telecommunications, the 17.5-dunum project adjacent to the border crossing is expected to take 12 months, with completion targeted for August 2027.
Designed to ease congestion at the bridge gate and enhance passenger flow, the facility will feature:
Parking & Vehicle Spaces: 138 spots for mid-size buses and minivans, 87 for private cars (including designated accessible spaces), 2 spots for rental vehicles, and 4 EV charging stations.
Facilities & Infrastructure: A two-story, 1,300-square-meter solar-powered administrative and commercial building housing a waiting lounge, prayer room, retail shops, and offices.
Driver & Operational Amenities: Dedicated rest areas for drivers, a traffic control building, a tire maintenance center, and shaded passenger zones.
