AMMAN — United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said Jordan is an essential partner in promoting stability across the region, noting that the Office of the High Commissioner has received strong support from the Jordanian government on issues related to regional stability.
In a press statement, Türk expressed his full solidarity with the Jordanian people over the burdens they continue to bear as a result of the crises affecting neighboring countries and the wider region. He also voiced solidarity with Jordan over the repercussions of the war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
Türk said Jordan plays an important role in building bridges at the international level thanks to the stability it enjoys. He added that the Kingdom has hosted large numbers of refugees for decades and remains one of the world’s largest refugee-hosting countries.
