In a recent interview with MBC, Tahat reiterated previous statements to the effect that the platform had been suspended due to legal violations and misuse, as well as posts that incite hatred and acts of violence.

The Cybercrime Unit, he said, is monitoring and following up on those posts.

TikTok had issued a statement on Monday saying that it held talks with the Jordanian authorities in hopes of lifting the ban, which has been in place since December 16.

According to the statement, 310,724 videos had been deleted from various Jordanian TikTok accounts.
