Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Wednesday ordered work to begin on six public parks across the governorates, all to be delivered during 2027.
Zarqa will get a park modelled on Al-Nashama Park in Marj Al-Hamam. Tafileh, Ma'an, Jerash, Ajloun and Madaba will each receive a facility along the lines of the new Mafraq Park.

The government will now allocate resources and select sites.Each park is to include green space and picnic areas, seating, walking and cycling tracks, parking for several hundred vehicles and planted forest trees, with provision for older people and people with disabilities.
Plans also call for sports pitches, outdoor gym equipment, children's play areas and service buildings, alongside safety measures and surveillance cameras.
The two reference projects set the scale. Al-Nashama Park, built by Greater Amman Municipality over 56 dunums and opened in May, devotes about 40 per cent of its area to green space and holds 11 courts across more than 10,000 square metres, a one-kilometre running and cycling track, and parking for roughly 205 vehicles.
Greater Amman Municipality completed it within five months, and it drew about 30,000 visitors in its first three days. Mafraq Park, opened on August 23, covers 200 dunums next to Al al-Bayt University and was finished 18 months after the decision to build it. It holds 10,000 trees planted earlier this year, 600 metres of walking and cycling tracks, four sports pitches, three children's play areas and an outdoor gym equipped for older users.
