Samour said that the Kingdom was divided into 12 exploration areas, where a concession agreement was signed with the National Petroleum Company for a period of 50 years, ending in 2046, for the purpose of conducting studies and exploration in the Risha field.  The field’s production is estimated at about 17 million cubic feet of gas, which is supplied to the power plant daily and contributes to 5 percent of the Kingdom’s needs of electric power, added Samour.
