AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday discussed with Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shimazaki Kaoru prospects for closer cooperation in economic, tourism, investment, and other fields.اضافة اعلان

Fayez noted the deep-rooted Jordanian-Japanese relations, which His Majesty King Abdullah is keen to maintain, lauding Tokyo’s economic support to the Kingdom.

The meeting also tackled the situation in the region and the need to find solutions to crises, namely the Palestinian issue, where Fayez reiterated Jordan’s support of peace efforts and of the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. He said a two-state solution is the only way to ending the Arab-Israeli conflict.

For his part, the envoy valued the Jordanian humanitarian and moral role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, in the quest to achieve regional security and stability as well as hosting refugees and providing them with decent living conditions.

He underlined Tokyo’s commitment to supporting Jordan in many fields and to further cooperate and coordinate with the Kingdom on the various issues.
Senator Nasser Judeh, president of the Jordan-Japan Friendship League in the Senate, on Tuesday lauded as “historical” the relationship between Jordan and Japan in various fields and at all levels, according to the Jordan News Agnecy, Petra.

Speaking to a league meeting with Ambassador Shimazaki, Judeh discussed the ongoing political consultations between the two countries, serving common issues, pointing out to King Abdullah’s keenness to encourage investment and cooperation at all levels, including education, culture, and technology.

He commended Japan’s role and support for Jordan in all fields, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Japan’s support for Jordanian stances, especially towards the Palestinian issue, in addition to common stances between the two countries to realize a stable and secure region.

Members of the league called for intensifying efforts and raising the level of coordination between the two countries, to include various possible fields of cooperation, including tourism, especially medical and religious ones, and opening up horizons for investment sectors such as industry and the digital economy.
