This update comes as a result of the inflation rate for the year 2022, which was 1.31 percent, according to Khaberni.

New maximum monthly salary for contributions
The maximum monthly salary on which social security contributions are calculated for the year 2023 has been raised to JD3,538, up from JD3,394 in the previous year.

The increase is in accordance with the provisions of the Social Security Law, which mandates that the maximum salary on which contributions are calculated be linked to inflation annually.

Unemployment compensation
The maximum limit for unemployment compensation for the year 2023 has also been updated to JD591 per month, compared to JD567 in the previous year.

This measure is also in accordance with the Social Security Law, which requires the maximum limit for net unemployment compensation to be linked to inflation annually.

The SSC also reported that the average wages of insured Jordanians under social security for the year 2023 amounted to JD618, compared to JD610 for insured Jordanians during last year 2022.
