The Social Security Corporation (SSC) announced in a press release that the number of insured individuals who benefited from the unemployment allowance during the first half of 2025 reached 14,792, with a total of 29,895 disbursement cases and an amount exceeding JD 10 million.اضافة اعلان

Since the implementation of unemployment insurance on September 1, 2011, until June 30, 2025, more than 342,000 insured persons have benefited from the allowance, with total disbursements exceeding JD 315 million across over 1,178,000 cases.



The Corporation explained that to be eligible for the unemployment allowance, the insured must have at least 36 social security contributions, including at least one contribution through private-sector employment, and must not have reached the age of 60 for males or 55 for females. Applications must be submitted electronically during the period of unemployment.

The unemployment allowance is disbursed monthly, starting from the month following the submission of the application. The allowance is not paid for the month in which the insured’s employment ends.

For insured individuals with fewer than 180 contributions, the allowance is paid for up to 3 months:

75% of the last insured salary for the first month

65% for the second month

55% for the third month

For insured individuals with 180 contributions or more, the allowance is paid for up to 6 months:

45% of the last insured salary for months four to six

The current maximum net unemployment allowance is JD 612, which is transferred to the insured’s bank account via the IBAN system.

The SSC also clarified that the insured is considered covered by old-age, disability, and death insurance for the months during which the unemployment allowance is paid.
