No monopoly on chicken in the market — ministry

AMMAN — The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply said that there is no monopoly on chicken in the Jordanian market, Khaberni reported. The ministry’s inspection teams are following up on reduced chicken supply from producers to some shops despite the high demand. The inspection teams have written up 1,500 violations since the beginning of this year, of which 62 were for non-compliance with the price ceiling set by the government for chicken. The ministry said that it is following up on complaints received, especially regarding the supply of chicken. It stressed the importance of meeting the needs of the market and taking measures against violators.
