Amman, Aug. 18 (Petra) – Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan commended the announcement by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on the reactivation of the “National Service” program, expressing the Cabinet’s gratitude and appreciation for the efforts and directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in preparing this vital national initiative.
During the Cabinet session held on Sunday, the Prime Minister affirmed that the government will move forward with this program in cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army, with implementation to begin at the start of next year. He noted that the government will allocate the necessary resources from the emergency expenditures item in this year’s budget for preparations, as well as in the 2026 budget. He added that all details regarding the program, which will be implemented gradually, will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Prime Minister further stated that the government will urgently submit the necessary amendments to the National Service and Reserve Service Law to Parliament as soon as the upcoming parliamentary session convenes.
