Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Saud emphasized, during a surprise visit to the Water Authority of Jordan – Miyahuna, the need to enhance the efficiency of water supply and to deal with citizens’ remarks with the utmost sense of responsibility. He toured several of the company’s facilities and customer service departments and reviewed the mechanisms for providing services to citizens.

During a meeting chaired by the minister, Miyahuna’s Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Al-Kharabsheh reviewed the company’s procedures aimed at improving services provided to citizens, intensifying efforts to reduce water loss, and developing the company’s technical and professional performance to deliver the best possible services. He also stressed the continuation of preparedness and readiness plans to secure water needs for the summer of 2026 by developing multiple scenarios and the necessary plans to secure additional sources to meet demand.
He noted that raising readiness and performance levels, and starting to prepare action plans for the summer of 2026, as well as ensuring the continuity of water and wastewater services for all subscribers across all areas served by the company, constitute key indicators of success.
The minister underscored the importance of effective engagement with citizens, understanding their needs, and strengthening their partnership in the success of the water sector’s strategy, as well as the necessity of having technical plans capable of addressing water challenges, especially during periods of heightened demand.
