The meeting, attended by Eng. Hisham Al-Haysa, Secretary General of the Jordan Valley Authority, emphasized the importance of strengthening ongoing cooperation and continuing the implementation of water programs and projects that improve service levels across all regions of the Kingdom.
Abu-Saud highlighted the ministry’s commitment to fostering constructive collaboration and leveraging European expertise in water and wastewater management. He noted that this cooperation has contributed to improving service quality, managing scarce water resources, and expanding water access to a larger portion of the population amid the impacts of climate change.
The minister also addressed other challenges facing the water sector, one of the most strained and resource-limited sectors in Jordan, including: continuous depletion of water resources, water losses, high operational and energy costs, irrigation water challenges, and efforts to utilize treated water. He also discussed projects aimed at securing new water sources, such as the National Water Carrier Project.
Jessica Rozwal affirmed the importance of continuing constructive cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the water sector, and expressed support for ongoing joint initiatives.
