MP Safadi elected Lower House speaker

AMMAN — Deputies on Sunday elected MP Ahmad Safadi as the Lower House speaker during Parliament’s second ordinary session, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. اضافة اعلان

Safadi’s won 104 MP votes, while MP Firas Sawair garnered 13 votes for the speaker position.

A total of 128 deputies voted, and 11 ballots were annulled.

Deputies Mohammad Shatnawi, Zainab Badoul, and Fawaz Zoubi withdrew their bids for House speaker ahead of the voting process.
