Labor: Suspension of Foreign Labor Recruitment as of Today
The Ministry of Labor announced the suspension of the recruitment of non-Jordanian labor starting today, Thursday, May 29, 2025.

The Ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Zyoud, stated that the decision to halt recruitment comes after a three-month period during which it was opened to meet the needs of employers in various economic sectors for non-Jordanian workers. He explained that the ministry will not reopen the recruitment process for foreign labor unless a thorough and comprehensive study of the labor market is conducted.اضافة اعلان

Al-Zyoud confirmed that the ministry will continue its inspection campaigns in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate across all governorates of the Kingdom to detect violations involving non-Jordanian labor and to take legal action against employers who hire them unlawfully.

He added that these inspection campaigns also aim to ensure that the non-Jordanian labor recruited by private sector establishments is actually working for them. He stressed that strict measures will be taken against any establishment found to have recruited foreign labor that is not actually working for it. These measures include suspending the establishment’s ability to recruit or employ labor and not renewing work permits issued in its name.
