Abu Al-Samen was briefed by ministry staff supervising the project on the work progress, project phases, and current completion rates.
Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan had visited the hospital at the end of September last year and directed the implementation of the hospital’s expansion. In response, the Ministry of Public Works conducted the necessary studies and handed the site over to the contractor on November 25, 2024, to begin preliminary works and site preparation. Construction officially commenced at the end of 2024.
The project includes the establishment of an outpatient clinics department with eight clinics, diagnostic services (laboratory, X-ray room, and mammogram), and a dialysis unit comprising 10 dialysis beds, including two isolation beds. It also includes a shared services area (registration, accounting, pharmacy, waiting area, staff facilities, and all supporting services).
As of now, the project is 70% complete and is expected to be finalized by the end of next month—earlier than the date specified in the contract documents. Continuous follow-up on the project has helped reduce the implementation timeline.
