His Majesty Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and His Highness Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met on Monday to discuss regional developments and ways to de-escalate the ongoing tensions.
During the meeting, held in the United Arab Emirates, the two leaders affirmed their condemnation of any attacks on Jordan and the UAE, as well as on their sovereignty. They stressed that Arab countries were not parties to the war and did not initiate it, but rather sought to contain the crisis and prevent the region from sliding into conflict.
His Majesty highlighted that Jordan continues to take all necessary measures to protect its citizens and safeguard its security and stability.
The two leaders also emphasized the need to intensify joint Arab efforts and enhance coordination with partners and key international actors to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable de-escalation that restores stability to the region. They underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in ending the conflict.
King Abdullah II warned against exploiting current developments as a pretext to restrict worshippers’ access to Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, and to impose new realities in the West Bank and Gaza.
