AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday attended a ceremony marking the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Mohammad, held by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs at the cultural center of the King Abdullah I Mosque, the Royal Court said in a statement.اضافة اعلان

The ceremony included a recital of verses from the Quran, as well as religious chants performed by a group from the Ministry of Awqaf, and students from the Islamic Educational College Schools.

Speaking at the ceremony, attended by Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Awqaf Minister Mohammad Al-Khalaileh highlighted the virtues of Islam. He also underscored the message of Prophet Mohammad as a blessing for humanity and a timeless call for tolerance and harmony.

King Abdullah bestowed the Order of the State Centennial on a number of institutions for their role in promoting the true image of Islam in service of the nation and its people.

His Majesty also bestowed Royal medals on a number of individuals in recognition of their charitable work, contributions to the Zakat Fund, and care for orphans.

A number of senior officials and officers attended the ceremony.
