During the tour, His Majesty will explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations with these countries and develop cooperation in areas that promote shared interests and regional stability.

In the Vatican, His Majesty, accompanied by Queen Rania, will meet Pope Leo XIV for the first time since his papacy.

In Rome, the King will meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella and co-chair, alongside Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, a new round of the “Aqaba Meetings”—an initiative launched by King Abdullah in 2015 to enhance international cooperation against terrorism and extremism. The initiative covers multiple regions globally and has achieved notable successes over the years.

In Budapest, His Majesty will hold talks with Hungarian President Dr. Katalin Soliok, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and members of the Hungarian Parliament.

King Abdullah II will also participate in the South European “Med 9” Summit, hosted by Slovenia this year. He has been invited for the second consecutive year and is the only leader from outside Southern Europe attending the summit.

In Ljubljana, he will meet with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar and Prime Minister Dr. Robert Golob for bilateral discussions.

Meanwhile, Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein took the constitutional oath as Deputy to the King, in the presence of the Cabinet.
