AMMAN — Bassam Al-Hijjawi, a member of the
National Committee of Epidemic Control said Tuesday that the health situation
in Jordan is “reassuring and stable” and stressed that there is no return to
protective measures, if a new COVID-19 variant emerges, according to a local
news outlet.
Hijjawi said that in the past 10 weeks, Jordan did not
record more than 500 cases of COVID-19 per week. He also noted that no deaths
have been recorded for four consecutive weeks.
He said that vaccination is the main tool to fight the
coronavirus and limit its spread among people. He pointed out that the vaccination
rate in Jordan is “very good”, especially among individuals who are 18 years
