The government has estimated the cost of constructing Al Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium at JOD 200 million, as part of the projects to be launched within the New Amra City development.

Al Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium will serve as the centerpiece of the sports city, spanning an area of 1,000 dunums with a seating capacity of up to 50,000 spectators. The project is expected to be completed within four years.
The project falls under the Quality of Life sector, within the initiative to encourage investment and public-private partnerships in projects aimed at improving quality of life, as part of the government’s Executive Program for the years 2026–2029.
The government announced on November 29, 2025, the launch of a new football stadium named “Al Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium” as part of the Amra City project, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan.
According to the government, tenders for the stadium’s preliminary works are scheduled to be issued during the first half of 2026.
Amra City will include an integrated sports city featuring an international football stadium to be completed in 2029, alongside an Olympic city. The development will also comprise halls equipped to Olympic standards for various sports such as basketball, handball, volleyball, and combat sports, as well as tennis courts, athletics facilities, and a motor racing track.
The city will further include commercial and service facilities, utilize the latest advanced technologies and modern broadcasting systems, and ensure sustainability through on-site energy generation, efficient water use, and optimal space management.
