Minister Abu Saud stated that the project is part of national efforts to improve water supply across most regions of the kingdom, in line with the Economic Modernization Vision and the Water Sector Strategy 2023–2040. The project also aims to enhance the role of local private sector companies in implementing infrastructure projects that improve services provided to citizens.
Abu Saud expressed his appreciation for the support from European partners, particularly the European Investment Bank, and the U.S. government for providing the necessary funding and support to implement water projects addressing the challenges facing the sector amid rising demand.
