AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi on Tuesday urged an end to Israel’s unlawful practices and violations in the occupied West Bank, and to its inhumane aggression on the Gaza Strip.اضافة اعلان

“The continuation of Israel’s aggression will have dangerous repercussions on everything, including Jordanian-Israeli relations," the minister said in a speech during the Arab League’s emergency ministerial meeting.

He added: “Jordan will take all the steps necessary to support our (Palestinian) brothers, protect Palestine’s holy sites, its people’s rights and the region’s right to just, and comprehensive peace, which ensures all of the Palestinian people’s rights. This is a strategic option that can only be realized through a two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.”

“Israel will not experience security until the Palestinians do. Israel and the region will not know peace until the Palestinians do,” Safadi added.

Safadi stressed that Jerusalem “is a red line and that Israel is playing with fire,” adding that that its aggression and immorality are pushing the entire region into further strife, thereby destroying all chances for peace and stability.

The foreign minister’s speech also addressed the occupation’s ongoing eviction of Shiekh Jarrah residents, noting that these actions constitute war crimes that the international community must not allow to continue.

“As an occupying force, the Israeli authorities are bound by international law to respect the rights Palestinians to their homes,” Safadi said, adding that Jordan has provided the Palestinian National Authority all the documents needed to prove Sheikh Jarrah residents’ ownership of their homes.

Safadi concluded his speech by calling upon the international community to “take immediate action” in order to achieve peace and restore the Palestinian people’s rights.
