The Public Security Directorate has called on all citizens who own heaters commonly known as “Shamosa,” of all types, to stop using them immediately and to take this warning with the utmost seriousness.

In a statement, the PSD said it is working with the relevant authorities to inspect these heaters after they were identified as the common factor in all suffocation incidents recorded over the past 24 hours.
It also announced that joint teams, in coordination with the concerned authorities, have begun halting the sale of these heaters in commercial shops and manufacturing facilities until the necessary inspections are completed.
The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate urged all citizens who possess Shamosa heaters, in any form, to cease their use immediately and under no circumstances operate them inside homes.
The spokesperson stressed the critical importance of this warning, noting that investigations confirmed that all suffocation cases reported in the past 24 hours involved the same type of heater.
He further stated that relevant authorities are currently examining samples of all types of these heaters, and that the results will be announced once testing is completed.
Additionally, the spokesperson confirmed that joint teams have started identifying and restricting these heaters in retail outlets and manufacturing plants to prevent their sale until laboratory results are issued.
