It also urged residents to exercise caution by avoiding valleys and low-lying areas, refraining from connecting rooftop gutters to sewage drains to prevent street flooding, and avoiding random disposal of waste that can block stormwater drainage lines.
Additionally, the municipality emphasized the importance of checking submersible pumps in basements and commercial shops located below street level, and encouraged business owners to take preventive measures when storing goods in warehouses and basement floors.
Contractors and construction project owners were also reminded to secure construction materials to prevent them from being washed away and clogging stormwater drainage lines.
Low-Pressure System
Jordan will experience significant changes in weather conditions in the coming days. A weak state of instability will begin on Tuesday, followed by the initial impact of a low-pressure system on Wednesday, which will intensify on Thursday before weakening by Friday.
Beginning of the Low-Pressure Impact
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, Wednesday’s weather will be cold and partly cloudy to cloudy. Starting from midday, the Kingdom will gradually be affected by an extension of a low-pressure system centered south of Cyprus.
Intermittent showers will fall in various regions, including Aqaba, with heavy rainfall expected at times—especially in the afternoon—along with thunder and hail.
These conditions may cause flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas.
Winds will be moderate southwesterly, becoming active at intervals and raising dust in desert areas.

The Meteorological Department warns of the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, and expects occasional thunderstorms. It also warns of fog and low clouds over highlands and parts of the plains, and dust formation in desert areas.
Peak of the Low-Pressure Impact
On Thursday, the weather will be cold and cloudy across most regions as the low-pressure system intensifies.
Rainfall will occur intermittently in northern and central Jordan, as well as parts of the east and southwest.
